5/2024 Generator Pad Bluestone with TrueGrid Pro
Dry Laid Stone Wall Colonial Bluestone Generator Pad 9' x 16' back to grade 4' high including below grade base stones. Built solid front to back for the generator pad. Topped with Truegrid Pro Plus Gravel System filled with 1/2" Limestone. Flat cap stones 18" with overhang. Corners and cap stones cut from bluestone sheet stock, natural, saw & thermal plus feather and wedging used to produce needed sizes for this structure.
I started the dig out of organic material using me Ditch Witch SK850 Plus with a 52" bucket
I set the foundation stones below grade and protruding 4"
As you can see here I'm setting my corner stones every other. You can also see the foundtion below grade by the green turf.
This is my Oxygen and Propane torch setup for thermalling. Which works really well on the bluestone. It's a lot like sand blasting the stone.
In this photo I'm actually thermalling one of the cap stones on the wall.
Large rocks built to back and up at same time as building wall
Truegrid Pro Plus Set below cap stones level. Adjusting base and grid filled with #7 1/2" double washed angular Limestone.
Jumbo Salt & Pepper Cobble used for edging to meet up with the existing brick walkway.
